I have collected found objects for as long as I can remember and often use them to assemble something that evolves as I continue to move things around. I am always pleasantly surprised when a work reaches a place where I want to say thank you to my muse, my subconscious, or whatever gave me a sense of discovery. I frequently feel like a prospector searching for gold, doing a lot of digging before hitting pay dirt.

I believe as Borges does that “Any work of art is a groping within a reality we believe may be revealed but in fact never is.”

My desire is to balance something organic with something cooler. I enjoy creating when the finished work evolves from a process not an idea or, at least, when an idea is allowed to evolve as the work progresses.
